How To Get Started
Patient Requirements
The team at Texas Laparoscopic Consultants, a partner of Nobilis Health, is eager to help you start your journey toward better health. There are several steps involved to ensure that you receive the most effective care possible. In order to begin treatment, you will need to attend an informational education session and have an initial consultation with a bariatric nurse and surgeon.
Please bring the following to your initial visit:
- Your insurance card (your health insurance coverage must include weight loss/bariatric benefits)
- Completed registration package and questionnaire
- Insurance referral if your insurance company requires one

Additional Appointments
At the end of your initial consultation, you will be scheduled for some other appointments as part of our comprehensive approach to care.
- Appointment with our nutritionist
- Psychologist appointment
- Blood testing
- Other specialist evaluation if needed
Surgery Scheduling
The time between your initial appointment and your surgery can vary depending on insurance requirements and medical considerations. Some insurance companies require several months of medically supervised weight loss, for which we can offer assistance.
Although there are many considerations during the initial steps of this journey, this is an exciting time. You are looking forward to a new you, and our staff is here to make this process as smooth and efficient as possible.
