My name is Sadie and I have struggled with my weight my entire life. At a very young age I watched my grandmother have both of her legs ambulated and later pass away due to her diabetes. I have always been extremely active in sports, band, cheerleading, basketball, and track. But at the age of 20 I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. I was taking 150 units of insulin daily. I had to break the cycle! I wanted to be around for my future children, and grandchildren. I wanted to make sure I did everything in my power to LIVE! When I started this journey I was 356 pounds. Today I am 281. Here I am 5 months PostOp, 70 pounds down! My diabetes is controlled and I don’t even take insulin anymore. I’m just waiting for the call when they say “You’re no longer diabetic!” Once I get down to 250 I am going to an amusement park and I’m going to ride every ride in the park, instead of watching everyone else! Thanks Dr. Scarborough and TLC Surgery for helping me get my life back!
